Female Health

At Cosmetic SA, we offer a wide range of services around female health including – but not limited to – ageing, skin health, and body contouring, as well as pelvic floor strengthening. We perform this treatment according to your needs with the following therapy:

Tesla Chair

Our pelvic floor strengthening treatments are performed with the TESLAChairTM. This high-end technology uses advanced Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS) technology to treat weakened pelvic floor muscles and all types of urinary and faecal incontinence, including urge, mixed and stress incontinence, and incontinence after childbirth. FMS technology can also benefit patients with sexual dysfunction and chronic pain in the pelvic region and lumbar spine. Seated fully clothed for 30 minutes, this treatment is non-invasive, painless and without any known side effects. A course of 6 or more treatments is recommended, performed two or three times per week.

Some questions we get asked

Are there side effects linked to cosmetic treatments?

Side effects are a possibility with cosmetic treatments and often come down to a combination of things, whether that’s the product used, the provider’s preference, and your skin nuances. Common side effects are often mild, short-lived, and may include swelling and bruising for 2-3 days depending on your treatment. Although less common, rashes and itch can also occur as an allergic reaction to the injection. Through a first consultation, our cosmetic doctor will walk you through the procedure, pre and post care protocol, as well as any potential side effects.

What if I am running late for my appointment?

If you are late, this may impact the length of your appointment. Please contact reception if you anticipate that you will be late for your appointment.

What should I wear to my appointment?

If you are coming for a skin check, please wear loose fitting clothing that is easy to undress for us to monitor your complete skin. We also ask that you come with no makeup or remove it before your appointment with wipes. It is not required to shower before your appointment.

Should I wear makeup to my appointment?

If you are coming for a skin check it is important you remove all make up/face creams before you arrive or use the wipes at our reception. Our skin checks will involve you removing all the clothing you are comfortable with and will involve a female nurse escort if you are examined by a male doctor.

Will photographs be taken at my appointment?

Clinical photography allows us to monitor, assess and plan your treatment plans accordingly. Images will be taken at each appointment with your consent. Lesions will sometimes be photographed for surveillance with your consent.
